I became a big band fan in the womb 74 years ago.
Internet radio has been a Godsend for me. So many stations. So much music. I have found a way to broadcast from the computer into radios in the house. Music available all around.
I like your selections.
However, I would like you to broaden your play list to include the great British dance bands of the same era.
The bands had a different sound than the US all-too-familiars and some tunes different from those favored by the US bands. I would suggest Ray Noble, Carroll Gibbons, Henry Hall, and Jack Payne for starters. I have a substantial CD collection of their music to play on my car.
Thanks for the music
George

I agree with George: British dance hall Rocks!! (Uh, as it were.)
Plus two words: Boswell Sisters! I realize you are more ’30 and ’40s, but none of that would be possible without ’20s hot jazz and I would ask that you please consider adding some.

The only station I listen to while I’m at work.
Most days, Radio Swing plays 8 hours or more in a row.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

First time at your site. How do I make the music play?

Hey everyone! Awesome music!
I discovered a love of this sound, By exposure to a great video game I love to play. “Mafia 2″. Yes sir, Drivin’ around Empire Bay in my Jefferson Provincial, swingin along to the 40s…Great stuff, Lol. Would be terrific to travel back to this time. Im not of sicilian descent so I wouldn’t be getting “Made” anytime soon, But whatever. Beautiful Music!

Hello everybody
I’m listening to RSW every day, which means 24/7.
The best radio tunes I’ve ever heard in my entire life!
Thanks!
I’m a 44 years old swing music and dance lover from Berlin, Germany.
Swing high!

Heiko, thanks for your comment and thanks for listening! The internet radio listeners of Germany are the most discriminating in the world!

Thank you for the great Swing-revival! We’ll stay tuned, here in the Netherlands (Europe).
9
do you have a schedule of station hours and what’s going to be played? Thanks

I am a recent listener from Argentina and simply wanted to thank you for existing. Broadcasting in Argentina has a long tradition (since August 1920) and I recall hearing some of the music you now broadcast mixed with our local music, thus recreating part of the atmosphere of my childhood (in the fifties).

Dear RSW:
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your station!
But…
I HATE HATE HATE your interstitials! They are very jarring and break the spell of an otherwise PERFECT internet radio experience. And do you really need to announce the year of almost every song you play?
No one else has the amazing selection of music you do so it’s not like I’ll be changing my listening habits any time soon.
Thanks for making these terrific songs available to us!
Cheers,
V

any plans for an iphone app? i’d love to stream this station in my car too!

You have the best selection of all the big band internet stations, and I listened to a lot of the others. I use the Grace radio receiver, and wonder if you can control the song information you put on the display. I would like to be able to display the artist and vocalist without waiting for the scroll.

HI
just came across the idea to check out your site. since I always listen to RSW thru Itunes or on the iphone, I never really thought of a real RSW wensit. And, to encourage you: I am a bit disapointed. The website is… demanding. Demanding a little TLC. I think. Now how is that supposed to encourage you? Well… ever since we’ve discovered RSW it is our No 1 choice. And it has almost become a RSW cult. And if I just now changed from the singular to the plural I silently included many friends in that statement, who I know have RSW tuned in while they work, cook, read… whatever.
So… just a suggestion: feed your fans!
cheers from CGN Germany
keep it up!

Only just found Radio Swing Worldwide on the Internet, I think it is the best station to come on line ever. As a visually impaired person this means a lot to me, keep up the good work and I will keep listening. Thanks for giving me such a lot of enjoyment. I am now going to try to locate Radio Bob as they also cover my eras of music history.

Hallo!
I accidentely stumbled upon your radiostation by web-streaming. Ever since Fallout3 the 30′s and 40′s music got more and more popular here in germany. So I’d like to ask you to play “I don’t want to set the world on fire” by the Ink Spots, which is one of the title songs of the game and would totally fit into your repertoire. That would be great! Thanks for playing such great music all over the world!
Many greetings from Mainz, Germany!

Dear Radio-Swing,
I wanna tell you about your annoing and jarring interstitials.
It is very bad idea to repeat them so frequently. I understand, that is your marketing PR policy, but believe me – if people prefer music like yours, they stay here in any case. I really like your station .. and music is amazing! BUT!
So, I want to suggest some offers for You:
1. cut off interstitials (four times per hour maximum)
2. make interstitials softer. Not so loud and noisy (let the interstitials match the music)
Thanks for making the amazing selection of music available to us!
(I apologize for grammatical errors)

I found you today in a round about way via facebook, and can’t stop smiling.
So happy to be listening to your station and intend on having the computer on all day now …..
As a 40 year old swing dancer I just can’t get enough of the 1940′s.
Thanks you (all the way from melbourne , Australia)

My era is the 70′s but ever since I discovered this mustic long time ago I feel in love with it. I would’ve liked being raised back then. Your radio is every where in my home and of course my Ipod. Keep up the good music this music really soothe the soul.

I love this station. I listen for at least 5 to 6 hours a day. There is one song that I heard and I’ve been waiting for several weeks now to hear it again. It was a duet. They were singing about “here we are” and different scenarios of where they were. I have been scouring the internet for this song but cant seem to find it. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Now I’m just a young teen that likes “old” music. That being said, I love this radio station, but I know very few musicians from the 30′s and 40′s era. My two favorites happen to be Bing Crosby and The Andrew Sisters. I’ve heard a few of their songs on here (maybe I’ve just been missing their songs), but I’d like to request more. I would love to hear more of them!
