Radio Swing Worldwide plays popular hits from the years 1935-1946, the heart of the big band/swing era, plus popular songs from the early 30s. Our primary musical reference for this period is Joel Whitburn’s Pop Memories 1890-1954: The History of American Popular Music …

Love the music – hate the ‘stingers’ – they’re too loud vs. program material (probably more dynamic compression applied to them), the EQ makes them sound out of place and their style is out of context and disrupt the program – hope you can fix that up – again, love the music

Dave, the response is running about 100 to 2 in favor of the sound; nevertheless, please remember we are experimenting with the concept of early Top 40 formatics with swing music, something I have been wanting to try for years and we’ll be continuously tweaking things. We will be adding a lot more spoken year intros plus we are working on a custom jingle package which will blow your sox off…stay tuned!!!

I agree, some of the stingers/bumpers sound a bit out of place, like 1960s rock era style. OTOH, what did they actually sound like years ago? I don’t recall ever having heard anything that’s been save (air checks?), unless there are bits and pieces on some WWII-era transcription disks.
Your music selection is great, though.

Stay tuned, guys, as we soften the formatics a bit over the next few weeks…I promise…we’ll be adding some more hits of the era as well…

I am wondering if you will be able to display your play list, as it plays, on your website in the near future?

thank you profusely for your marvelous presentation. you have transported me in time to the era of my youth..i enjoyed so much listening to dj”sl martin block, bill williams, symphony sid ,alan courtney all on the air in brooklyn, ny..watching the big bands at the Strand and Paramount, wasthe thrill of a lifetime , never to be forgotten…some of the bands my sister and I went to see were Barnet,Brown,HAMP,Pastor a number of times .We would bring our lunch to the theater and catch the band performance, main feature and stay for the second show…I was born 1928,,,,you can understand this old timer wanting to express his appreciation for yourfine and diligent digging up the rarer recordings of that era….thanks again ,,,texas pete

Hi, i’m a massachusetts college student and I wanted to say I love your station! Ive always listened to a variety of genres but loved swing music since It was a dance craze back when I was in high school and I listen to jazz on a fairly regular basis. I am so glad I found your station on my android phones radio app though hearing original artists of the time is fantastic. Keep up the great work!

Guys, your station is AWESOME! I bounce back and forth daily from yours to StreamingSountracks. Is there a way we can see what is streaming at the time on your station?

Superb station and love the stingers/jingles.

This is s great station. It reminds me of the Bob Moke programmed 40s channel on the old XM (before they gutted the playlist after the merger with Sirius), but your playlist is far more comprehensive than that ever was. I have this bookmarked on my home, and work computer on Winamp, and on two of my tablet computers with the RadioBee app. I have only one suggestion – the jingles seem to be from the 60′s and don’t really fit in with the station. I can live with it though. The music rules. Thanks for making this station available.
